terms of service
the agreement
These terms are between you and “space of my own” (“SOMO”, “we”, “us”), operator of spaceofmyown.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use SOMO.
eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use SOMO. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we will close the account and delete its data.
your account
Accounts are personal — one real person each, signed in with a real Google account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Don’t impersonate others, and don’t transfer or sell your account or space.
your content
Everything you place in your space — photos, videos, music picks, text, designs — remains yours. You give us only the license we need to operate: to host, store, display, and transmit your content so your space renders for you and for the people you share it with. That license ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload. If you believe content on SOMO infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the location of the material and proof of ownership, and we will take infringing uploads down.
acceptable use
Don’t use SOMO to:
- break the law, or post content that does;
- harass, threaten, or target other people, on the platform or off it;
- post sexually explicit content;
- upload content involving minors, or misrepresent your age to be here;
- scrape the platform, spam it, probe its security, or interfere with its operation;
- upload malware or content designed to harm visitors.
We may remove content or close accounts that violate these terms. For anything involving safety or minors, we act fast and without warning.
youtube
SOMO’s optional YouTube features use YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. What we access and store is described in our privacy policy, and you can disconnect at any time.
the service
SOMO is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it up and to keep your things safe, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service or that nothing will ever be lost — keep copies of anything irreplaceable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (today, that’s zero — SOMO is free).
ending things
You can leave any time — delete your account and your data goes with it. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.
governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
changes
If these terms materially change, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use SOMO after a change means you accept it.
